NHS England Updated Carbon Reduction Plan Guidance for 2024 (Member Only)

NHS England has updated their guidance for the requirement of Carbon Reduction Plans (CRP) from 1st April 2024, the next milestone in the NHS Supplier Net Zero Roadmap. 

This milestone expands on the requirement for CRPs from 1st April 2023 for all contracts over £5 million per annum. From 1st April 2024, a CRP will be required for all new frameworks operated by Major NHS Framework Owners irrespective of value. This includes frameworks from NHS England, NHS Supply Chain, NHS Shared Business Services, NHS Procurement Hubs and the Crown Commercial Services.
 
For frameworks outside the scope of Major NHS Framework Owners and below £5 million exc. VAT and above £10k, only a Net Zero Commitment of 2050, with 2045 being encouraged, will be required. 
 
All suppliers with a published compliant CRP are ready to meet the April 2024 milestone by keeping their CRP up to date.
